USA National Miss Virginia Princess Leigha Harris is currently a 9-year-old third-grade student at Scottsville Elementary School who also attends the University of Virginia’s gifted program. When she is not working hard to excel in school she is a passionate dancer. Leigha has been dancing since she was 3 years old at the Wilson School of Dance where she studies ballet, jazz, and tap. Tap, however, is her all-time favorite because she loves making noise with her feet. She also enjoys gymnastics, reading, playing outside and has recently discovered a love of makeup. During her free time she enjoys volunteering in her community through various organizations but her favorites would have to be her local SPCA, Ronald McDonald House, and the Alyssa House. The Alyssa House holds a special place in her heart as her dance teacher Ms. Lynn’s daughter was Alyssa who lost her battle to cancer at age eleven. Leigha is also passionate about USA National Miss’ platform Crown CARES. With being a victim of bullying herself, Leigha wants to help other kids being bullied by giving them a strong voice to stand up against bullies to stop this horrible issue around the country. She feels strongly that everyone should be able to be their true unique self without the fear of being made fun of. So she asks…. Will you stand with her?
